Press Release on the Tragic Train Accident in Isanti


PRESS RELEASE

 

August 10, 2013

 

 

On August 10, 2013 at approximately 0402 hours, the Isanti Police Department received a call of a train versus pedestrian accident within the City of Isanti, specifically north of Heritage Blvd. NW.

 

The Isanti Police Department located the victim north of Heritage Blvd. NW. but south of Isanti Parkway NW. in the area of the Isanti Water Treatment Plant.  It was quickly determined that the victim was deceased.  The victim was identified as James Donald O’Neil age 32 of Isanti.

 

This is the third such accident that the department has responded to this year.  It is imperative that pedestrian traffic stay off the railroad tracks.

 

The Isanti Police Department was assisted by Isanti Fire Department, Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, Isanti County Safety and Rescue, Cambridge Police Department, Allina Ambulance, and Canadian Pacific Railway Police.
