Hardware Hank is reopening in July

Hardware Hank is reopening in July under the ownership of Arlene and Mike Urban. This is a great step forward for Isanti

What in the world are you saying new owners? The Urbans have been associated with the store for a very long time. You and the city did nothing to keep it going, please don't take any credit in it rising from the ashes of your torch job!

First of all I did not say these are new owners on the blog? But technically they are the new owners after the previous owners shut it down. The Urbans have always owned the building and they did own the store before the previous owner...

Now to your idiotic statement of a torch job.... The City did offer to help the previous owner but the previous owner had decided to move on to other opportunities he had....

We need a hardware store in town and under the right ownership it should do very well. I had a great conversation with Arlene to make sure we get the word out for its opening.... This is a great moment for our City... Don't let your irrational hatred of me take anything away from great owners of a great commercial asset in Isanti....

George you are doing a great job!!! I see new projects on 65, a new restaurant and now the hardware store opening again!!! You are awesome!!! What other city has as hard working a mayor as we have. You are bringing us through the toughest times we have faced. Thank you and ignore the haters.

I wouldn't say he's the best. There is still alot of hatred for him and always will be.

Sour grapes!!! Mayor Wimmer gets 2 to 3 times the votes of anyone else each election. So sad bitter losers take a good story like the hardware store reopening as a chance to complain about the best Mayor ever.

Why is it that every time someone disagrees with you they are labeled as haters? I think there is room for disenting opinions. You must have very thin skin to be so defensive so easily.

Well Liz I did not call anyone a hater... and what is the dissenting opinion... I shared my happiness that the store us reopening... does anyone think it is a bad thing?

I am soooo happy to see the Urban's back in town and I can't wait to once again, be able to shop locally instead of having to make a trip to Cambridge for one bolt, in a moment of desperate need - ESPECIALLY with the price of gas!

As for the first poster - what on earth is fueling your hatred? Although I don't agree with George on some issues (and he's well aware of this), I certainly didn't read his blog posting as trying to take "credit" for this, but rather as simply reporting what he knew. Good grief, back off and be thankful that we'll now have a vibrant hardware store in town and leave it at that! *shaking head*

This is in answer to the last entry. I am just as pleased as you are that "Hank" will be open once again. The point I think you are missing is that the next time the mayor runs for office,he will more than likely add to his list of accomplishments the reopening of the hardware store.Thats just the way politics is.

The only businesses I ever mention in a campaign are those I have recruited or personally involved with putting the deal together. There are many deals I have worked on and many I have not.

The sad thing is when I try to promote all business in our City the negative people use it to attack me.

I just saw the sign today. Do we have a date yet of when the Hardware Store is going to re-open? Up until I saw the sign I had heard nothing about it! (They need some PR) But I am delighted they are re-opening and the company that employs me will be too as we used them frequently!

Also I saw in another post - someone mentioned a new restaurant? Who? Where? What? When? LOL! I guess I need to read the paper more often. It would be nice to get something new in the area.

My big request is can we please see about getting a larger grocery store to move in on Hwy 65? Maybe another Cub or County Market, Aldi's - someone - anyone! Riverside is nice - they've been here forever I'm sure (I've only lived here 5 yrs) but they are so overpriced and if it's difficult for an individual due to physical or financial constraints to get to Cambridge - shopping at Riverside is not very economical even if they are very nice people! :~( Could someone look into that, Mayor Wimmer?

Thanks! :~) C U All at the Rodeo Day's Parade!
