Well there is no good way to say this so here it is…..Wenck will not be the City Engineer. Wenck did not disclose the primary engineer that would serve Isanti would be unable to attend Planning Commission meetings nor Council meetings because he was already dedicated to another city.
I was frankly quite angry and disappointed that at the very least this was an overt act of omission. I firmly stated at the Council meeting that the promises made by each engineering firm were my base line expectations. I met with Wenck and expressed my reaction to their proposed changes in a blunt exchange. Wenck failed in their first act and performed a bait and switch and therefore can not be our engineering firm.
The Council will take this up at the next meeting and decide how to proceed. As I know more I will inform you.
