I have served the City of Isanti as Mayor since 2007. We have accomplished great things together and I look forward to building on our success. United, we move forward to a better future. You may contact me at 763-442-8749 or e-mail me at george@georgewimmer.com.
What an idiotic comment... The wake park story was 4 days ago the theft was reported today. The wake park is in the city and we are involved with it. The grave sites are located in the township which is why the Sheriff's department was contacted and was involved with the story.
Stop trying to take advantage of a tragedy to attack me...
A follow-up on the last comment: How is it that the cemetary wich is located very close to the city is not a concern to the city and the city is asking for back taxes from a church/restaraunt that is located about a mile farther down the road? Things that make you scratch your head in wonder.....
Again I never said is was not a concern I simply said the Sheriffs department was contacted because the Township has them as their law enforcement agency. The Place to be/Spirit River are in the City of Isanti because the original land owner petitioned the city to be annexed and there were back taxes that were not paid as they should have been. We worked out a payment arrangement that worked for everyone and allowed them to continue in operation... The final payment of that arrangement was paid... another success working to clean up issues of the past ....
there are about 2 dozen properties surrounded by the City of Isanti that are not in the City and do not pay taxes to the City.... they pay township taxes and the township is responsible for those properties... the cemetery is not a unique situation
