Housing Slow Down?

Read this story, http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=114051. This is more evidence we need to be careful in our budgeting process. There is a housing slowdown. We do not yet know how this will effect Minnesota, Isanti County or the City of Isanti. There has been a trickle of these reports in the last few months. If the housing industry slows in the county and city, property tax payers will be hurt. There are a lot of unknowns, this is why we need to be more conservative in our spending.

George,

I could not agree more. Simply look at the California boom & bust housing market to see the results of over zealous spending.

There are some things on the horizon that could positively affect our local market, however, they not guaranteed events at this point.

They is the new Vikings stadium in Blaine. (If the "Love Boat" incident did not derail the project.) And the 3rd Interstate Beltway around the metro area that the State Legislature has commissioned MNDOT to research.

Both, would in my mind greatly impact our local market for the better.

Until these to projects are officially "inked", a conservative approach is definitely warranted.

Keep up the good work!
