was this the only place an invitation was made to the citizens? is the city paying Mr. Ross for his input? the DJ, does he qualify as an expert here or is he a comedian looking for work? Bigger is not better, espeically if your serious about the tax issue. The Mall issue in Cambridge is working itself out, so.. now how about the Landmark bank building as a library? the drug store as a Isanti County Resource Building, a number of other ideas may work there, if we get lightrail it could be train station/bus station, then going out the back door to the parking lot parkside build a bus shelter, to catch Heartland or another bus to North Branch 2 times east daily and 2 times back daily to catch their bus to the cities to go to work, the park n ride vans park over farther,(make those spots paid parking)LOL and since we can no longer have picnic tables or kids at that park, fence it in for a little dogpark. Developers are watching their $$$ to these days, remember what people want.. is stuff that enhances their lives and makes life easier,that includes eveyone in town, but ignoring people is not helping.. end of story. Want more??
The event was a chamber event and they had sent to invitation to all their members and Ithink it was in the papers as well.....Mr. Ross was not hte former DJ...Mr. Zellers was...and Mr. Zellers is an economic professional....everyone has had past jobs....frankly I am not sure why that was even part of the Cambridge Star's story.....what park can we no longer have kids at?
The idea of a library at the Landmark has been discussed...my understanding is that library group does not favor this site. The City of Isanti a few months ago asked Isanti County to consider our city for any expansion of offices. The County instead expanded operation at another site in Cambridge
Heartland is always looking at other routes. I was speaking with them a few weeks ago about route concerns. They are currently asking to add another route in Chisago County.
I have no idea how anyone is being ignored and it is my experience developers always are watching their money.
