I hope those that voted "no" are planning on going into the schools to help! The teacher in our district have so many challenges and their jobs just became harder!
We still have to wait for Cambridge but I highly doubt their numbers will be dramatically different. School Levy request often expose raw nerves in communities. There is no doubt that if this levy fails that it will be back again.
Some free campaign advice for those that are pro levy - look at the 2004 campaign and all the time that was put into that effort. I am not judging the tremendous amount of work that the group did but it is always good to look at what has worked and not worked in the past.
There is no tolerance for tax increases in our community regardless of how much they may be needed.
Erika I think alot of people would help out if asked.Alot of people are sick of the liberal bs that education pumps into are kids and then to ask us for more money. We need to all pull together and help educate are kids.WE need kids to be strong which starts from proper parenting. Not from cry baby parents who want goverenment to do everything.
Maybe if the district wasn't asking for a huge percent increase in the current per student rate, it could have passed. As it stood, they were looking for what a 600% increase or so?? That's a bunch of horses&%t.
Some parents need just as much help as their children. If you're not raised with values and ethics, how do you raise children with values and ethics? I don't know if putting more money into the schools is the right answer but I do know adding more children into a classroom will not fix anything.

Churches are run on very low budgets.
They count on many volunteers to help out. A good education starts with the PARENTS! NOT A LEVY!
