County Highway 23 Trail

I am happy to report that the City Council directed the city engineer to do a feasibility study on extending the trail and sidewalk along County Highway 23. This is important to providing safe routes for children to school. I will keep you updated as this process progresses.

The Iverson-Apitz Community library is way more important than keeping our kids safe on there way to and from school. I keep waiting for an investigation into all the conflicts of interests between the mayor, councilman johnson, and our self proclaimed "highest Taxpayer" and all the preferential treatment he seems to demand because of it. Now that would be taxpayer dollars well spent.

Tough to design a decent walk way on HWY 23 with major, necessary ditches on both sides!

How about control the speed on Highway 23/Whiskey Road? People speed on that road constantly!!! Please extend the city limits and keep the speed at 30 mph.

he trail is essential to safe routes to school. The crossing over of the brook is the toughest issue.

The city limits are constantly extending. We are already working on extending the 30/hr speed limit further south on highway 23. I will post when we have permission from the county to do so.

Keeping our kids safe is NOT important? Well it is to most parents.. placing Co Rd 23 sidewalks in was a good move, then it was only done to Birch St, so it looked dumb.. so kids then had to walk on rd again.. but now they can cross back and forth at more dangerous areas to find sidewalk again, not safe, especially walking, the walking kids in kindergartenhave a tough time with that.. as well as the bike trail they are supposed to take to school, its right along the creek, a teaser or sort of dangerous place to play.. at the creek and 23 we have the dirt trail to school, until a couple kids were seen smoking, then all kids were harassed about it, its no wonder our kids don't co-operate in this town, the skate park was brought up yrs ago, it took til someone on city council, or their child had an interest, as with the bowling alley and other places, only for those who can afford it. It's just our future, these kids are.. a playground at the new BIG school might be nice, seeings how alot of folks can't afford school sports for their kids.. how many police stations or City halls are there now? People aren't sure where to go if they needed help.

Boy, I am ALL for adding sidewalks/walking paths on County Road 23 (both sides of it) and even more sidewalks around town. We walk ALOT (for fitness sake) and find Isanti to be very hard to get around in because there are not enough sidewalks/walking paths. Please add more! Thanks!
