Word of Thanks

I recieved a great comment of thanks from our Public Work guys. A lot of thanks to those people that cleared the snow from the fire hydrants in front of their homes.

This is a city responsibility but the guys were very thankful for the help. I thought it should be passed on.

vhthe situation with shoveling was weird, for one we were told ordinance to do it would go into effect, then in the city newsletter areas were mapped out..
not to clearly, a line on Whiskey showed an area with no sidewalk, then people recieved warnings, etc.. why wasn't anyone informed of a date of odrdinance going into effect?? (that would be professional)..but, then for us who shoveled neatly and salted.. before our kids were leaving for school, and right then the guy still drove over it and messed it up (but then he did a MUCH better job on the Co 5 snowmobile trail!) besides the plow guy placing as much snow as he could over the hydrants (10 feet high)we'd just finished shoveling.. and we'll still get warnings or fines right? since sidewalk guy decided to waste the gas anyhow.. (that you talked about saving)there is no making sense here..

The sidewalk shoveling was communicated through the newspaper, Isantian and the city Website. This go around notices were placed for those that had not yet plowed as an aditional warning. The Council voted at the Council meeting to enforce the fines for the properties that did not follow ordinance.
