We recieved our 2007 tax statement in the mail today. I do not like what I see. I moved into town and my tax's more than doubled. The only service that I gained by moving into town is city sewer and water, which we pay to much for tobegin with, and the water is crap. Why did I move to town?

Yo' Dan,

My understanding is that the tax rate did not go up for '07, but possibly your house is now worth more and is being assessed accordingly. Good Luck!

Mine actually went down a little bit, not that it really matters since it was jacked up like crazy the last couple years.

It is never how much you make it is how much you spend. Isanti's spending has added significant debt. The debt load is what is hurting us today.

Taxes went down slightly because the capacity numbers increased. The council had voted for a tax increase. Building permits and fees are down 40%. We are already looking at having to cut some spending for the 2007 budget.

Taxes in Isanti need to decrease 25% to be the same as the surrounding area. Spending in Isanti is out of control. Dan your right, the services in Isanti stink as does the water.
